Travel Kit - 1.8 billion reasons hotels love add-on fees http://on.msnbc.com/u8mXs2

When I met my husband, he could not understand the concept of "do you want fries with that?" in other words the upselling at any bar or restaurant. He always thought Americans were so friendly, if he ordered a Whopper they would ask if he wanted cheese, SURE THING, he would reply. Then not understand why they charged him for it when they offered it.

In other countries you order what you want, and that is that. If someone asks "Did you want cheese on it or bacon?" it was because that was an option, not an upcharge.
