"Continually invest in content: Content can include video, photo, interactive maps/travel guides, mobile apps and articles/blogs/travel guides – basically, anything that users will find helpful when planning a trip or vacation."

Take a look at this guide - What independent accommodation needs to do to compete against the big brands

I admit to being a believer in if you build it they will come  - BUT

You need to tell them you are there!

The movie Field of Dreams failed to explain how every one of those cars knew to go there. Marketing is so very important. I do not blog as often as I should, but I do try to include photos in every one possible. Thank you JB for posting these articles - sometimes we need the reminder it has been a while....

I guess my opinion is, for those same who say/think "if you build it they will come" the same rings true for marketing. "I have a website, and the info is there so that is all I need to do." This whole www thing is a living changing thing, we need to be proactive. That is why we share these articles and bits of info (for what they are worth) here on the forum.

I guess when we speak to the aspirings who come to the forum dreamy eyed speaking about weddings and all things "entertaining" we also need to share a little bit about marketing.  They don't get it, we know this, there is a lot to get, but there is more to it than open your doors and entertaining guests. Well, if you want to make a good go of it anyway!

What are you doing to add content to your B&B marketing? When was the last time you added and/or updated photos?
