this coming weekend, we will have all rooms occupied by guests of a wedding. the bride to be is also staying here the night before her wedding. her home is nearby but both parents passed away in the last year or so and she does not want to stay there that night.
i am putting together a little something for her that i don't give other guests. when i bought some soaps and things, i was sent a sampler of other guest amenities they carry ... like a little sewing kit and pretty soap ... it's all done up in a little cellophane package. i am going to give her that, a little mesh scrubby, some bubble bath, a bottle of water, and a little box of toothpaste. anything you think i might have on hand (unused of course) that i could include? i don't know her, just met her last winter when she reserved the rooms.

Is there a best wishes type poem that you particularly like that you could either copy in pretty font on the computer or find online and print out to put in the basket? Like one of the Helen Steiner Rice poems.... that would make it nicely from you without being too personal. IMO

How sweet! I was in a similar situation and packed my own emergency kit for the morning-of:
  • bobby pins
  • hairspray
  • drinking straws (to avoid smudging lipstick)
  • Q-tips
  • Shout wipes
  • energy bars
  • safety pins
  • clear nail polish
If you happen to have any of these lying around, maybe tuck them into a basket or bag?
I'm sure some flowers and a couple of CDs for getting ready would also be great. Have fun!

A good friend just had the other of her two sets of twins get married. She also has a young lad of 8.
She had, single handedly saved the entire wedding party by bringing her hot glue gun with spare glue sticks. She glued the flowers, the little boy's (ring bearer) broken pants zipper, the reception had her hot glue all over it. She emailed me a list when it was over of like 50 things that she hot glued just in the nick of time!
