One of my guests from Saturday is a lady who is here to work as a welder's helper. The job site is 30.1 miles from here and she has a diesel car so the NO GAS is not a problem for her. We talked before she left Sunday morning about what a weekly rate would be. She called back Sunday and came back. THIS is the set-up.
We had rain again last night. She did not say anything when I saw her briefly at 5 AM (I had awakened thinking I heard someone beating on the door - dream) - I set the coffee pot out last night. So I went up to check and noticed she had the latch on the door but it had not latched.
No rain came in Sunday night - YEEHAA!! So being the nice innkeeper, I pulled it closed for her. THEN it hit me, I had not showed her about the security lock and if she had that on - Hooboy! Could not find the other key so crawled out the bathroom window (not raining this time and in daylight) and lifted up the screen but could not get the window to open (it looked locked!). They ended up not working today because of the weather and her key worked! The window WAS ublocked, just sealed tightly. Showed her about the lock and all is well.
IF I had just looked first, I would have avoided an hour of oh-oh. So everything here is back to normal chaos. And it looks as if the Concert will happen tonight.

having deja vu about this post! Didn't you climb out to unlock a teen's door or something a few months back? Why are you climbing out windows??!

Last year. Only this time I did it to myself. All was OK, but IF I had looked at the lock BEFORE I closed the door, it would all have been unnecessary. I was a DUH!

this is why i have locks you have to actually lock to lock if you see what I mean - do not trust guests not to lock themselves out!

Maybe it is time to disable that odd locking mechanism before someone gets hurt.

DH bought the locks. Need I say more?
.
So, it's a race is it? You feed him pudding he makes sure there are locks on the doors that require you to climb out on the roof. I can see the headlines now...

Yikers! Do you need to get more keys made? Or is this not possible with that particular lock? Can you disable or replace this lock? Sounds like it might be time to do that.....
