 JB - I don't think I really get this, B&B with 14 rooms and under are exempt from the accommodations tax?

It sounds as if they were collecting the "bed tax" as required but the only ones being audited and enforeced were the little B & Bs, not hotels. If it is a case as in this county, of spending money for an employee to audit and enforce properties of 14 rooms or less, they were spending a lot more than was coming in from those properties. And I can tell you for certain that the hotels get the promotion from the CVB, not the B & Bs. For one thing, I did not have the advertising budget hotels do to partner with the CVB ads.
