I had books for sale in this old fruit crate and now am repurposing. I currently just put it on the porch with a potted plant in it (but this is a very old crate and being outside it won't last long (just mentioning this as I can't have it out in the elements for long).
Your thoughts? I will attach two images (I added them to twitter as I can't add large images here in the forum system).

I have one like that. For the last 30 years it has been beside my living room wood stove, holding kindling and firewood.

I've got one very similar and have it in our most rustic room, covering an old obsolete plumbing pipe. There's a silk fern on top of it. It looks good in there, but you'd have to have a very rustic room to pull it off.

i love that crate! there was one at a reclaimed treasure place i saw for $45 in good condition

I saw someone using one like that to hold towels. She rolled them up and put them in there end up. You'd probably need alot of towels to fill that up, but it looked cute.

I always think something like this would look good in a pub.
I love pubs!

I have a white oak basket a friend made for me in the foyer filled with brochures, maps, etc for in area and out. I have many times dived into it to find something for a guest. This would be good for that. The rolled extra towels is another excellent idea or use it as a tray to carry the breakfasts to the cottage. The sides will help keep stuff from sliding off.

Here is where I placed it on the porch. I also have mums in a granite bed pan, so it looks pretty cute out there, but it won't last long, so after this summer will figure out a better use.

Life is about finding nice places to be. One of those places is definitely that front porch!
Do you have drip irrigation on a timer to those ferns, or do you have to water them manually? Drip irrigation is one of the best things ever invented!

Looks great! Your flowers on the porch are really pretty...the heat has gotten to mine this year, despite lots of water. I'm going to have to see if I can find tropical flowers with the way things are going with the temps...
