I found a set of towels, we had washed them, that I have never seen before. They were the same color as towels I have, but they had a 2 inch band toward the base with a silver stitching. I never buy towels with thick banding on them like this.
I think guests in a room may have destroyed or stained our towels, may have taken them hiking, and so went out and replaced them. Which is the first time anyone has ever done that! I thought that was very nice. They were very nice guests from Georgia who I really liked!
Mystery solved. No harm done.

Good for them!
But sad to hear it's the first time it's happened. Rather than us having to find stuff broken and try to get the money out of their credit card, you'd think more people would be taking care of their own damages. But no.
It's a reflection on their mothers.

You are joking.

I once had a friend who said, "it's a reflection on their mother" anytime someone exhibited bad manners.
I think a mother finally shot her (my friend).

Now THAT is an interesting statement. My daughter the cop was leaving this morning from a quickie visit with her man friend and we were talking about the family. She was just saying she does not get how her TWIN says she remembers their birth Mother (she died when they were 3) and other things upbringing related - when they were brought up in the same place and by the same people. She says she has no memory of Sheila, just things they were told. As far as this daughter is concerned I am her Mother.
Just saying as an example that they can be brought up by the same people in the same place in the same time period for the same length of time (3 minutes apart does not count) and still be totally different.

I see it as that - if I ate at table like some of these people do I have in right now! even at 7 years old I would be in serious trouble! the mess it looks like they have chucked it about everywhere! I have to be stood by with a clean cloth when they get up!
also with hotels etc charging for everything you would simply think people would be more careful so as to save money

Let's say IT USED TO BE A CREDIT TO THEIR MOTHER.
Today anything goes. No parents. Bad parents. Busy parents who raise kids via day care. Whatever the situation.
But in the South, Mama does get the credit, so I agree. When my nieces and nephews who have never spoken or replied to me, never speak or reply to me, in front of the parents and grandparents, I BLAME THE PARENTS. Absolutely.
