Final Processor Statement

Last week I kept calling the number to discover my bank balance until I knew the fees had been taken. Monday I made a trip to the bank and closed the checking account. Tuesday I called the processor and canceled them. There is no longer a bank account to tap. They were no difficult about it - so far anyway. I got a cancel number and sent myself an e-mail with the details so I cannot forget the what & when. I was asked why I was cancelling and I told them the assessment of a fee was the last straw.

Today I got the statement for last month. Zero cc transactions for the month - none! Nada! and they took $22.90 from my account. $2.90 VS Network fee, $5.00 Monthly Service Charge, and $15 Account Minimum Fee. It does not cost them $5 to send me a statement and I saw no reason to "give" them $17.90 to do nothing. Ask me why I moved to Square Up...

 ps ... i had a savings account with the bank not of america that drained my little account in about 10 months because my balance was too small. no statements came to me and i forgot i had that little account.  it took about that long for them to suddenly find me to tell me i OWED them money ... negative balance.  i appealed and they closed it.

 wow!  here's hoping that square (and whatever other portable payment programs there are) live up to our expectations.  it is just so unfair that small business is being FEE'd to death!
