I am using Gimp to edit photos to add a tag line. I have no idea why this happens and would like ideas if you know- no matter when or how many photos I download to edit I never get to use the same size font.
Ex- yesterday I downloaded a photo and used a font size of 48 to add my tag line. It is pretty legible. The other day I used a font size of 18 and it came out about the same size. Tonight I had to use a font size of 150px to even see the individual words.
I always use the same font.
I compress the photos before downloading if that makes a difference.
It's just a bit annoying to have to play with the font size every single time.

Are all your photos the same size? I have never used Gimp, but if I use different sized images, I always have to adjust my fonts accordingly.

I have never used it either, but in paint shop I need to adjust font size for photo size. I try to always post on Facebook images that are 1200 pixel wide. Good resolution for sharing. But on the blog they need to be 640 pixels wide.

Thanks! Generally the photos are random sizes after cropping. It surprised me that the smaller the photo size is the larger the font has to be.

different size photo use different font size . just like word Document .
I’ve used GIMP for about 8 years now. It’s free and easy to use.
GIMP is great for photo editing, but the limitations are more likely dependent on what you want to do, and what you're capable of doing.
drawing tablet are good for Gimp photo editing, I have XP-Pen Star 06 Wireless Painting Tablet (or sth like that) and I don't need anything better.
