It's funny how the trends seem to changing for hotels. And yet, every room is still exactly the same.... breakfast is exactly the same from one property to another...
Anyone else think that showing up to a room with a personal picture of your children put there by the hotel in a frame is a little creepy and not home like?

Big Brother has been watching since nineteen eighty four, George. Now even your hotel is Googling your private life. Yes, a little creepy.

I would consider that a LOT creepy AND an invasion of privacy!! I would also wonder how they GOT a photo of my kids except I know people post way too much personal stuff on FB.

Yes, I'll bet they just searched them on FB and found lots of family photos to grab.
I noticed this today...
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Facebook Inc began rolling out a variety of new privacy controls on Wednesday, the company's latest effort to address user concerns about who can see their personal information on the world's largest social network.

New tools introduced on Wednesday will make it easier for Facebook's members to quickly determine who can view the photos, comments and other information about them that appears on different parts of the website, and to request that any objectionable photos they're featured in be removed.

A new privacy "shortcut" in the top-right hand corner of the website provides quick access to key controls such as allowing users to manage who can contact them and to block specific people.

Recently, I put something in a website's shopping cart, but didn't purchase it. a few hours later... an email reminder. A day after that, a coupon for 10% of items in that particular category. Did I buy? No.... I was creeped out and not only did I not buy, I unsubscribed from their mailing and asked them to delete my account. Just too CREEPY for me.

TA did that to me. I was having a look at the cost and benefits of a business listing, as now you can join on a monthly basis I thought I might give it another try in Jan/Feb. I didn't take it any further, but the following day someone phoned me up and asked if I needed any help or more information.
A step to far, for me..almost.

A photo of my children, yes, that's way too invasive.
Surely big hotels and chains want conformity, not because they can offer guests consistency, but because of economies of scale.

At first I thought Customized Marketing was marketing to a targeted audience.
