All 4 of the Sugar Plum Teas are over. Felt like the end of a production... all the months of preparation and now, its done... kinda sad... I wasn't exhausted either. I loved every minute of it and so did the families that participated! All 4 dates were sold out. To see pictures from the event you can look at them on the Sugar Plum Tea Party facebook page

We obtained photo releases to use the photos publicly and for advertising.
You can see that everyone had a great time!
(the "Nutcracker" was my hubby, the "Prince" was my son, The Sugar Plum Fairies were friends daughters, and I was Mrs. Stahlbaum! although some of the kids called me "Clara".

What a fun time you must have had!!! What a handsome Prince!

Thanks Kathleen! We did have a wonderfully fun time! I kinda think the prince is a little bit handsome too!

You did such a great job! Everyone had a wonderful time and created lasting memories. Those keepsake ornaments were a smart activity!

Thanks!
We had on the back of each picture, the event, place taken (our b&b) and date. Everyone went on and on about those. Almost everyone said they are coming back next year. Several said they wanted 'more' tickets than purchased this year. We also were on the home tours and folks saw the 'decorations' for the tea and so we were able to tell them about it and they also said they were going to watch for next year and purchase tickets for next years event!
I'd say it was very successful!
The 'sugar plum fairies' enjoyed it sooo much they were already planning a 'spring' tea event that they could all come back and do!

What a labor of love that must have been!!!.

I really did love doing this! Of course a trip to see the Nutcracker Ballet was a yearly event for us before we moved here and opened the B&B. I love it. There is not a performance of it within 100 miles of here, so this was a great alternative to that.

We could have sold tickets for next years event easily (we didn't).... and, we don't know if we will be here or not.
But wherever we go, one thing is for sure, we will definitely do this again! (yep, hubby said he's in!)
Especially now that we have all the stuff for it. Next year is when we will make the $$ on it. We sold tickets for $15 ea. and limited them to 20 each date. We fudged on two dates and actually allowed 22 as we only had 1 ticket left and family member size required 3 so we went ahead and sold them the extra 2.
Everyone showed up each date except the last date there were some 'donated' tickets for families who couldn't afford it. One family who received 6 tickets only 4 came, and one entire family of 4 didn't show up.

Sadly, when there is no "skin in the game" and/or no investment, there is no value to it and it is not "important".

Magical!.

it really was. The pictures couldn't quite capture the light tones, and the twinkling in it all, but it was beautiful, and magical. Children and Adults loved it!

Photos can never share the feelings, the smells, the sights and sounds of the experience. We can try to imagine... Your enthusiasm and joyfulness is what portrayed the event the best! :)
