Has anyone used Dwolla to accept payments?
This is sort of out of the b&b office and more general usage. Specifically, I am helping with a charity fundraiser that wants to sell tickets online. All the avenues I've explored take a % ... and the merchant fees for those accounts ... make this not a happy arrangement.
I was thinking about Square ... but still I see percentage fees.
I looked at paypal and their fees for these tickets ... at just $15 and $20 pricing ... are going to quickly eat into their profits after expenses
I found Dwolla that charges just a 25 cent fee per transaction. no fee for under $10 and this instant feature which I don't quite understand
Dwolla Instant: An opt-in feature
Monthly participation fee for Dwolla Instant: $3.00
Late fee: $5.00
but i'd never heard of Dwolla before.
Anyone?
Thank you.

i already did a web search, loads of comments by people i don't know. but i was hoping someone on forum knew something about dwolla.

It sounds too good to be true. That makes me suspicious.
In any event, I wouldn't want to use it for B&B transactions. I prefer to have a credit card number on file in case of damages etc. We don't even accept cash or checks anymore. My rate has enough padding in it to absorb the processing costs.

Is Dwolla a PayPal beater? I think, if you ask them, the answer is yes. Do you want to know some of the reasons? Well, they're less expensive, and can apparently cut the transfer time down. Why not even conduct your own have a preference for as well as take a look into within this web page?

Thank you for this very informative and reliable post. There are those who became disappointed by PayPal as an online payments choice ever since it was purchased by eBay. Many have felt the sting of lost funds, account freezes and other service nightmares that some may say rest just this side of downright fraud. Then there are the fees. For those who desire alternatives, there's Dwolla, an online payments site that claims it does a better job than the competition, for less money. Use a short term loan to help pay your next PayPal payment.
