Someone emailed and all it said was: "do you have air?".
My husband wrote back and said, "Yes, and we also have water. You can have one or the other, but it will cost extra for both!"
LOL! He is so funny! (I hope they get it!).

TOO WEIRD. Not sure what they mean either??? I bet they meant air conditioning :)

Did you make gulping gasping sounds into the phone, air...gimmee air...

definitely meant air conditioning. funny to just ask if you have air.

People around here often speak of their home "heat and air" systems, meaning heating and air conditioning systems, and I recall hearing people in the sixties talking about buying a new car "with air". So I know what they mean, but you don't hear it that way much anymore.

Our 1st brochures & website had under amenities: ceiling fans in all rooms. We did not even think to mention AC... after all it is a given seeing we are in the south...
Then as the warm weather approached calls started asking about AC -

Same here. We just take having AC for granted.
I've added it to the website amenities list now (thanks!) because northerners wanting to book know we have hot summers but may not know that AC is standard here.

makes me laugh as in the UK it is very rare even for very large hotels to have air con -its frankly not that hot here - had a woman ask me if we had air con (for the 3 days in august when we might need it) said I was sorry but they might have it at the Holiday inn but i doubted it!

We sometimes get asked in we have air conditioning. Our response is "Only what is provided by the ocean and the trees!" We do provide fans, which are in high demand when we get the occasional heat wave, but in general the climate here in the summer is going to be much more comfortable than in the mid-Atlantic states, where a lot of our guests come from.

The a/c is more for the humidity than anything. I mean, we need it in the heat of summer, but on the midatlantic the humidity is what would kill you.

Funny story! I've told it to others a few times since first reading it. Spreading the laughs

This is very timely as we are creating our first Rack Cards. I thought one section was a little sparse, so I've added "Central Heat/Air & Ceiling Fans". Things we often take for granted but might make the difference in someone's decision.
Thanks!
