Yep, I got a call tonight for a room!
A few days ago, I had a call for weekly rates and just for the heck of it quoted a price with just coffee & juice in the mornings. He said starting Sunday. Told him he could come but there would be nothing Monday or Tuesday as I would be out of town, hubs would be there but he does not do any of that stuff. He did not call back so I figured he was not interested - as sort of hoped he would not be.
He called the house tonight and DH gave him my cell #. I old him DH was there to let him in, where the thermostat was to turn on the heat in his room, etc. Called DH to get the door open. DH says he loves the room and says he will be here for 5 weeks. NOT construction either. He is something to do with testing at the power plant. Woohoo! I DO need to go out of town more often!! Seems when I do, I get occupied rooms.

Great! Let's hope it turns out well over all those weeks!

I was out doing errands when he got home from work yesterday. Met him when he came down to go to dinner. Seems very nice and is super pleased (of course) with everything. He said I do not have to do coffee every morning as he goes right past Greasy Macs (our name for it) on the way to work. YUCK!!
I set the alarm for 4:45, put out juice, cream, goblet, cups, and banana with a pot of coffee perking and was back in bed by 5:15. Knew I was making veggie soup for supper tonight and invited him to join us. Small cost but keeps them happy. Cannot wait to get my computer back!! I have over 100 in my inbox and that is AFTER deleting the crap.

Confession: I look forward hugely to breakfast at McDonald's any time I have to get up early and drive to some meeting or to the airport in Memphis or Little Rock (each a couple of hours from us). The McD's bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit is one of the highlights of my life. (Camberly, think of it as a bacon, egg, and cheese scone, and our bacon is much crispier than yours, and it's American cheese, of course)
Remember, I'm the guy who ate at Hard Rock Cafe and Hooter's when I was in Atlanta last year on business. I loved it, but it caused a few of you to cry tears of blood.

That is funny.
The last time I did that I went with my Dad, it was pretty cool to be able to go in and fine dine over a biscuit or mcmuffin like an everyday person.
You may recall the story, half there were retirees who meet to gossip regularly. One gal came over and said hello to me, and in her southern belle drawl: "Wellllll helloooww, now who is yo new freeeeend?" and I had to laugh, uh, MY DAD.

Dad, of course, was flattered all the way home.

I was referring to their coffee. The bacon, egg, & cheese biscuit is MY treat to me when hitting the road early. Last year on the way to the airport to come home from my niece's wedding, my brother stopped at Greasy Macs to get us breakfast. I asked for 2 BEC, one for breakfast and one for on the plane for lunch. BEC bests the heck out of the Co coa Wh eats DH makes every morning (he is trying to be sooo nice so I eat the darn stuff - OK but not EVERY morning,

Another thing I am doing next week is going to boil some eggs and put one out every morning. None of this costs much but it certainly shows the Better Wa y to St ay. I also put out a travel mug each morning for a cup for the road. He is enjoying telling his friend who is also on the job (staying in another type lodging) how nice he has it. Told him if he is OK with sharing the bathroom with his friend, he can have the other room that shares that bathroom for the same rate. So far have not heard anything.
I get up, grind the coffee, fill the coffee pot, etc and plug it in, turn on the porch light, and back in bed in less than 10 minutes. Have it down pat now.
