You all know I have been having computer problems. When I lost ALL photos from after 2/18/2011 through Jan. 2013 I decided to ask the above named company if the also backed up e-mails and contacts. the answer was yes. So a very nice lady from Lew is ton, ME has my system in the process of restoring my e-mails and contacts and all my missing photos. She is restoring to Feb 28 which should be all my important e-mails. I am not going to get excited until I see the end result.

My brother had his Hotmail e-mail account hacked a couple of years ago. He had stored years of important e-mails in folders there. The hacker changed his password so he couldn't get into his own account, and he lost everything. E-mail is one of the hardest things to keep backed up.

I will let you know how it worked out. I had my ads that were sent electronically in a folder - among other things. DH is in NEED of a print of a photo sent in an email as well as a print of a motorcycle from a photo file that is gone unless this restores it. Crossing fingers. Next time,I will just have the whole thing restored- DUH! Isn't that what I am paying for? Just did not know it backed up the Out look stuff too

That's why I have another service (Crash Pl.) that essentially backs up all my photos, music and documentation. The stuff I'm afraid to lose.

I thought it backed up everything. Did you have the right settings checked? Don't they guarantee their services? I know lots of folks who use them. Personally I do not, but I religously back up my entire computer at least once a month to 2 external drives.

They DO but I did not realize that. I thought e-mail was a different entity. Live and learn. I will never go through this again. I now know to just tel them to restore all. It does take forever though. I am just doing e-mail (a ton of it I admit) and 2 years of photos and there is still 20 hours estimated time left. Probably the speed of my system that I cannot control.
As I add something to my documents or files, it does an auto back-up. That I knew but as isaid, did not know about the part I was trying to save - e-mail and contacts.

I have used this service for many years. I've also turned on plenty of clients to it. I've seen several clients have to completely restore all their stuff. It's a complete life-saver and I wouldn't even think about not having it. I could not function if I lost even a month's worth of info. With this service, the first backup takes forever and after that they only back-up things new or changed. Best money spent!
