I would like a listing that shows just MY inn!! Not other choices available in my area, in my state or half way across the nation, thank you very much. angry

If I am paying over $400 per year for it, it had best be devoted to me - it was not therefore Idropped the big bdotcom.

To get bookings - not page views and not enquiries actual stone cold bookings! A directory which is more specialised could be the answer ie we have harrogatebed and breakfast.com they do all towns ie manchester bed and breakfast.com and so on - we do pretty well out of referals from their site ie it takes them directly to our site and then they book directly and they fight hard for page ranking

Traffic to MY site.  There is no longer a need for a detailed directory page.  I just want the TRAFFIC to go straight to my site where ALL the facts are!  No need for the middle hook 'em page, let my site do that.

Most of us are now using directories mainly for the link love, that is unless you are one of the few that can be Gold or Platinum or what ever they call their highest ranking listing.

Traffic, real traffic, traffic that buys.

What I don't want is budget traffic, traffic that compares our prices with 20 other B&Bs in town because they want the cheapest solution instead of the best solution. In fact, I have one directory like that and we have been talking of removing them constantly. In the summer we get these multiple enquries that either want my only room with a Ensuite at winter prices at the last minute when it's reserved 2 months in advance and full summer rates OR we get these annoying emails sent to several B&Bs entirely based on looking for the cheapest prices and asking me to quote prices....

The end result is that we no longer quote prices in email, we instead direct them back to the website to put in the dates and get a proper quote for available rooms with our online booking discount.

Lots of window shoppers, no real shoppers.

I want enough reservations generated to cover at least twice what I paid for the listing. I am being realistic considering my location. The more the better of course.
