Do you know where to get a one-of name-tag for an assistant innkeeper to wear? I am not really wanting a "conference" type plastic holder, but is there a place to print or just have ONE made up? I have nametags for various orgs, but we buy them bulk for all members.
She wears an apron at breakfast (a half apron) so that is cool, but if I am allowing her to check in guests, which I want to do, she looks like a kid, even though she is 19. I want something more formal. Any ideas? She would like a nametag. (not a uniform or anything this is a small place)
 
Here Staples does engraved nametags. I would expect that sort of thing could be customized at the same kind of local business that makes rubber stamps, etc.

My housekeeper wears a XXXL teashirt with Housekeeping on it - prevented what happened the first summer which was tank tops - which on that size and EE boobs isn't a professional look
 
UPDATE
Staples online, easy to set one up and use your own logo or a stock logo. Got it all done, even saved 25% so it was like $9, and then it asked me about shipping, the cheapest was $9.95!
I called Staples, she looked to see if can be sent to store for no shipping, but no.
You can go INTO staples, and they use the same progrm and you come back 7 to 10 days to pick it up.

I frankly love the modern world...most of the time! Being able to build business and rack cards in my spare time on my computer, upload them to GotPrint and have perfect printing arrive 5 days later is just amazing.
The next big thing coming is 3D printing. It's like having the Star Trek replicator for under $2000! At least it would be, if I could come up with a real reason to buy one. But I will, I will.

You could print up housekeepers on that 3d printer!

Well, she is not really new, she has lived here for the same amount of time as I have! But she was much younger then...

Ha! I was guessing that was what was going on! Reminds me of the gifts of the Wizard of Oz. Give someone a diploma and they really feel smarter. Give someone a medal and the bravery follows. Give someone a name tag and they feel official, and ARE official to the guests. Very good.

Not with the $2000 model, you can't! But maybe someday.
 
I do have shirts made up. But I don't want her, or anyone else in the fam to wear a B&B shirt every day of the year. As you know, you live here, you are here every day of the year rain or shine! So the nametag/badge will work great I think.

As I mentioned to some other innmates, now I need to give more responsibility. I am working on that, and last night had the worst nightmare in the world about it. No details to bore you, but it was atrocious. When I do, sometimes bad things happen, and have happened. But this is life...we all need to live it.

There are some companies that will do small runs, like Name Tag Wizard.
I don't know if I would ask them to wear a company T-Shirt, but a polo, maybe.
 
Thats great news. Your daughter as an Assistant Innkeeper. I have 4 daughters and none are interested in this B&B but help with things like my on line site,suggestions, etc. Their all College educated, have careers and live in Calif, Texas, Ohio, Northern Virginia. You have a real family business now !
