I posted on my state association private group FB page for our members. I think we'll get some more listings in my state!

I added more characters to the main text on each listing to 300.  The reward text I will find out.  I think there should be enough room to say what you need to about booking online.  If you are using Res Key you can add an extra field to your reservation form.  I took a screen shot from mine so you can see what it would look like.  It only takes a few clicks to set it up.

My listing still said 255 max and did not like my new attempt. Shall have to wait until I get WORD again so I can count characters. Too long it told me - after 3 or 4 tries at deleting text. Diarrhea of the fingers as usual I guess.

Thanks!  Happy to be able to state just a little more to attract them to click on to my site.  Thanks again.  The site is coming along nicely.

Why would you add an extra field and not just create a discount code?

That is how I did it.  Simple!

Yes, if you just give discounts this will work fine. Just make sure its a code you have just for InnRewards and not other sites. Your code you have now will work great.

You can also do it if you're giving a gift. Make the value of the gift $.01in your ResKey discount. When they apply the code, it will subtract 1 cent and add the gift.

I guess that would work if you are only giving discounts. Its been really fun to see all the different things people are offering. If I was a guests I know some of them I would want to cash in on!
Not everyone is giving discounts.
If you have a discount code that you mention every where then you wont know where the booking came from. If you choose to do it that way, then make sure you have a different code. This way you can keep track of it. If you have it spelled out on your reservation page of where to Enter the Code, people will know what to do with it. But you could try the discount code and see if people know what to do. They might call you and say "I see you have a place to enter discounts, but I don't see where to enter my InnRewards code?" Time will tell! Smiling

My discount code is just for Innrewards.  No matter what I offer it will be unique to Innrewards and so will the code.  My reservation form is long enough I don't want another box for a guest to scroll through.

http://innrewards.com/

I see we are getting some great inns added to http://innrewards.com/ now!

Virginia is leading the pack in the US listings with 6 inns listed!

5 in the UK

4 in Canada

and more...

Get listed everyone, the more the merrier to make this work!

PS We need to get the FACEBOOK PAGE up to speed, get some color to the header. And when an inn is added it should be posted on the FB page.

In the wording on the InnRewards site for innkeepers, when we ask them to use the LOGO they can also LINK/LIKE the Facebook page. Plus some more adjustments are needed in the wording and about section.  Smiling

As of now, unless someone out does Virgina. You guys will get the next upgrade on your state listing!
I like the idea of adding the properties listed to FB. I will do that. (Well DW will when I tell her to) Its my day to wear the Pants! She told me I could! Smiling
I will also add the link to the fb page when listings sign up.

The FB photo is less than stellar.  Sad

Plus, I think the wording of "scheme" isn't the best...almost sounds like a "scam".  Maybe change it to a program or offering?

Again, this is what I speak of.

If you do not have the NAME of your facebook page set you will get NUMBER extension on it.  What does this mean? This mean when you do a search IN FB you will find the OTHER InnRewards FB PAGE, as no one knows to search for a bunch of numbers.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/InnRewardscom/147549422086416?ref=hl  <this is what it is currently

https://www.facebook.com/pages/InnRewardscom <now check this one? You will get a PAGE NOT FOUND

SEARCH FB for InnRewards and you get this: https://www.facebook.com/InnRewards?fref=ts

You cannot search in GOOGLE for the facebook page. It won't work, you can only search IN FB. Which is one of the issues, as see results. You cannot guess the page name. It has "InnRewardscom/147549422086416?ref=hl" on it.

I tried to explain this, I am always trying to explain this. It is IMPORTANT if you want people to find your FB page.

See I thought this might be an issue since there was already one page set up. This old page needs to be deleted. Who did it?  Can they please go in and remove it from FB?  NOt needed and it is going to lead to problems I am sure down the road.

I know how important this is...shared with BOB to do it. Then, I tried to set up the "user name" and it would not let me. Said it was already taken Sad HUH???  Were no other options???I thought maybe the ADMIN was the only one allowed to do it. any other suggestions?

Its all done however it says you have to wait 10 days for it to delete - ive set it so that only admins can see it - so hopefully that will hold the problem - however the problem was caused by people doing things without checking in the first place ie could have simply changed the extension - nope created a whole new page -  which is what causes the problem in the first place

So, when innrewards gets a lot of b&bs participating, how is the guest going to know what area the properties are located if they are all listed by state? Right now it's not important because there are very few and guests will just click on them all and look at the map on each listing, but what if there are 20 or more properties in a state?

After we get enough on a state we will break the state up into thirds. We can then go to cities and so on. This site is going to grow with features as it gets enough users. We can probably even do a featured property per what ever we decide to do on the state or city pages... The way it is now, i'm going to start thinking about Canada as the next Map to build. We are starting to get a lot from that region! Hope you all are enjoying the site. Let me know when someone enters a code. That will be kinda fun! I know it will take time for the word to get out.

Good morning everyone!
I'm getting great feedback on the site. We now have 45 registered properties. That's a great start I think! Its been a lot of fun looking at all the different things you guys are coming up with for your rewards! If any of you have time to write a blog/Facebook post about the site I think it will really help as well! I know a few have and we thank you!

I have a question? I received an email from this properity http://www.redbudvalley.com/
asking if they could list. I have an idea in my head but I wanted some advice.
Accorn Internet service also sent out some info on the site and that has helped a lot. I have been telling a lot of innkeepers about innspiring site. So we might get some new friends coming over! Smiling

Ive been trying to push it on Bedposts which is another forum I use with over 1000 members but as there is no UK section on the map it is handycaping me a bit. Im also tryingl to spread the Better way to stay campaign which page views of the "hotel package" vidio have shot up overnight! trying to see if there would be a way for bedposts and PAII to work together on campaigns such as this which would benefit us all

If you go to the Home page of innrewards you will see your country listed.  The site has been changed to only show countries that have a listing.  If you know of a property that is in a different country that is not listed thats ok.  As soon as they sign up I make one for them. Smiling

One thing that still bothers me is the Breadcrumb trail when you go to a state/ country etc. it says TOP...that is so weird...why doesn't it say "home"?

Still need some edits on the innkeeper page and some images. Pretty boring page to look at Sad

Right now I see no purpose in even having the  US Map. To me it is one less step to just scroll down the list and see which states have listings. When you click on the map, you have to choose a state and if none there, have to start over again. I would rather see some nice photo images up top there instead.

I agree it looks small enough to be a fit - as long as it is not a division of some mega-corp. Some of the places that call themselves B & B have mega rooms to the point I think of them as hotels - a lot of the ones on PAII. I guess I am out of it because I cannot see how 20 rooms can be a B & B because in my mind a B & B is owner run small business.

The problem for the "tweeners" is they are too big to fit with us and too small to run with the hotel crowd.

I had a similar debate with myself -- we're not a B&B, nor an Inn really, but we are in the hospitality business, small, locally operated, family owned, etc., etc..., so very similar in many ways, dealing with many of the same issues (which is why I am on this forum). I went ahead and submitted a listing to InnRewards and it was accepted...

This other place seems similar, small, presumably not a chain , etc.., although I think it would be nice to have more information about who the "innkeepers" actually are (no "about us" page on their site...). Just my thoughts, for what they're worth.
