So, got yet ANOTHER call from one of those telemarketers wanting me to switch my credit card processing. I know it's USB Payment Processing because that's what it says on my caller id. Sure enough, the caller says, "Is there someone I can speak to regarding credit card processing?" So, I said, "No." and just paused. She was quite taken aback and ended up just saying, 'Oh, how professional' and hung up before I could reply something along the lines of 'no more unprofessional than cold-calling'.

I like that! I was asked if I no longer take credit cards when I said I was not using a processor so I said, no, Iam not. Goodbye.

Versus my answer.. "Oh course, their time is $60 an hour with a 10 minute or $10 minimum charge. Would you like to pay for that with your Visa or MasterCard card."
You won't believe how many people have been stopped in their tracks with that one. No one said that our time isn't valuable.

We got a call the other day also. The other innkeeper is way too nice and never finishes the call with "Please remove us from your calling list". But, what I told this one guy was that we are obligated to use our bank's processing due to our loan arrangements with them. He shut right up and didn't argue (like they're trained to do). Luckily the other innkeeper was there - hopefully she'll use the same tactic. It's true actually and I hope it does cause them to remove us.
