You all need to go back for all the comments now, it is quite entertaining. I am only on the PRO article and reading the negatives now...

I just posted this I hope it works (since there is a link). We had a four nighter cancel for this weekend, and a 3 nighter. Both legitimate reasons, and saw the money disappear...

Okay you all asked for it! I am offering this online special to tempt you to try a B&B, springtime is inncredible in these mountains! Here ya go - you won't find this anywhere else... Rocky Mount, Virginia - the Land Between the lakes in Franklin County.

ONLINE SPECIAL FOR THIS WEEKEND ONLY! BOGO (BUY ONE NIGHT GET THE SECOND NIGHT FREE) ANY AVAILABLE ROOM APRIL 19-21, 2013.

Someone posted a comment on the PRO article and then someone posted a link to their TA reviews, YIKES!!! Does anyone know this B&B or innkeeper? Any ideas if they reviews are true or not?

The website sure makes it look amazing (google that I won't add a link for privacy reasons here)

Posted.  With the standard  type reply to a poor TA review.  Thanks for the head up on this.

Unfortunately, there are some out there that are like his stereotype in the article.  Sad   I have a wedding in September and the venue is off the beaten path but they have suggested some B&Bs nearby on their wedding web site.  YIKES!  One has a super long cancellation policy, with NO refunds.  Most of the web sites are hideous with tiny room photos.  A couple do not have online bookings, you have to fill out a form or call.  And so it goes....

I do agree with someone who commented on the article that the author needs to shop better for a B&B.  But, I'm having a difficult time.

Y'all excel here!  We keep saying that...

They appear to be a twinned pair of articles - she loves them, he doesn't.  I checked today's paper and they are not in print there, but they could be in the Post magazine or the Style section this weekend.  They both do the 'Bed Check' column in the Sunday travel section where they travel to B&Bs and small inns, usually close to DC.  Although Joe hasn't done any for awhile - I guess I can see why now.  He's the food editor for the WaPo - same guy whose recipe someone posted awhile ago.  He had a good article recently on coming out as a vegetarian.

Okay so I would ask that YOU DON't add comments to HIS ARTICLE, but add comments to her article. I couldn't get the comment thingy to work on her article.

Seriously, he is ONLY trying to stir the doo doo. Give her the attention and media responses!

Do whatever you wish, just saying, that would be my 2 cents, pour out adoration onto the B&B loves, INN REWARDS and all of that. Mention InnRewards and how we LOVE OUR GUESTS and offer the happy guests a reward. Smiling

PS I WOULD ASK CAMBS to change the TITLE OF THIS THREAD, as the author will be here shortly if not already.

It's an idiot who had to submit an article to get paid and an editor who was asleep and let rubbish be printed.

I already commented on his and shared the fb of hers. I requested that he not visit my B & B because I do not get PITAs and prefer it that way.
