Google+ Place Address

I've created business pages for my guesthouse at Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.

Sending people to the Facebook page is easy. Send them to  facebook.com/MyGuestHouseName

Sending people to my Twitter page is easy. Send them to twitter.com/MyGuestHousename

But on Google+ my page address seems to be something like (not my REAL address) plus.google.com/u/0/b/113746835999254192919/113746835900254292919/posts

Do they have a way to have a simpler page address like Facebook and Twitter offer?

a work around might be to go to bitly.com - which is a link shortening service - and create a smaller link.  You can name it something custom... bit.ly/MyGuestHouse and point it to the Google address.  And if you create a free Bitly.com account, you can track how many clicks that shortened link has received.

I had thought about using a URL shortener but didn't know there was one you can customize. Thanks!

I tried to do it about a month ago and couldn't. Muirford is right, it keeps changing and we can't do it yet.

Hmmm. Maybe the Google+ URL cannot be changed to something simpler. I went to the acorn site and checked their own social media links in the upper right corner of their homepage (the Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ icons).

The URL to their Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/acorninternet

The URL to their Twitter page is https://twitter.com/acorninternet

But the URL to their Google+ page is https://plus.google.com/102208238567068236029/posts

most of the google information I have found says that it can be changed but Google has to invite you to do the change. Acorn must not be as popular as say, Hugh Jackman.  They (Google) have said it will be available for everybody, but that hasn't happened yet, as far as I can tell.

Acorn has a series of free informative webinars available on the topic - I think you have to claim and verify your Google page before you can change the URL. Things are in flux right now with Google+ and Google places so it may be best to hold off on either one.

Here is one basic tutorial: http://acorn-is.com/education-lbl-101.htm
