I open my door yesterday afternoon to find INNKEEP there!! Yay, me! I'm taking her to explore the finer points of downtown today.

I had heard through my inn-mate grapevine that she may be showing up at your door! I wish she was here, I wish I was there, with you all. Have a nice visit, she is a loverly person!

I really didn't mean to surprise Lynne, it just happened that way. It is just so nice to have a community of friends that we can know before we've ever met!
After meeting other innkeepers here and hearing horror stories about some of the other properties in town, We have come up with a new innkeeping concept. It's called "Innkeeper Intervention". An intervention is called for when the innkeeper shouldn't be one.
In my case, any of you have my permission when/if I get to that point.
Seriously, I've had a wonderful time here, and Lynne has been the best hostess. Central Pennsylvania would be a great place for a larger Innspiring meet-up for several who are from this side of the country...

I have already said I would be willing to travel to PA to meet up with the clan, hm that didn't sound right...

Let's work it out. I am inn, er in.

Innkeep and I had so much fun yesterday!! I thought I'd bust a gut when she suggested an 'innkeeper intervention'!! Just too funny! We also explored the downtown Central Market (one of the 10 best in the world according to CNN GO.com)
Alas she has departed for points north and east. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip!! Stay safe and enjoy the cookbook.

You are on my list of MUST MEET.

OMG we came so close to coming to see you this coming weekend but Hubby needed to put in his vacation request a month ahead. We'll be there someday, I just have to meet the "Top Dog"

If there is any last minute chance, we are here, and it is going to be a great weekend, weather wise too! It is already 65 outside. Beautiful. The Top Dawg is itchin' for something to do too.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought about some folks I know who had THIS surprise visitor. They sent me the photos today and the little story, which I thought was super cute.

As I've mentioned before, our first state nickname was "The Bear State" because we had so many. Then my ancestors and their fellow Arkies ate them all. And I mean ALL. Now the state game and fish commission is bringing in black bears from Colorado to get them established again here.
Then we were "The Diamond State" because we're the only place in North America where you can dig in the dirt and find new diamonds (as opposed to the ones people have found before, but lost). Then we were "The Wonder State" but everybody wondered what that meant, so we became "The Land of Opportunity" (a nickname the state industrial development commission came up with).
For the last 30 years we have been "The Natural State" and that one seems to be sticking. We have no shortage of beautiful nature because we can't afford to plow it under and build parking lots. There aren't enough diamonds here to match the oil in Texas, and the land of opportunity turned out to be the land of poverty...and nature. I like the nature.
By the way, I'm a member of the Sierra Club, and the latest issue of Sierra Magazine has a cover story on The Current River. It's one of the FIVE rivers we have in our county, and just a couple of miles north of my town it merges with The Black River that flows by us.

Part of the funny part of this story is this couple retired from CIA and another gvmt agency to leave the rat race behind and get back to nature, they built this log cabin on 20 acres. After being infested with flying squirrels and other animals, while building, they thought they had a handle on it.
Never a dull moment.
Bring in wolves from Yellowstone too Arks.
