I have a "possibility" of having an article published in a motorcycle magazine this summer. Yesterday I was finally able to take my "research" ride. I have been on this route (one of the ones I did for motorcycles) in a car and on my motorcycle back when I was still riding. This issue of the magazine will be focused on trikes - so I needed to do it on a trike. Yesterday was the day! We left about 11 AM and got back with 45 minutes to spare for my Planning & Zoning meeting!! (Most of which was taken up talking with DH on the porch when we got back! The guys seemed to enjoy it though) They always try to "buddy ride" so Junior who had been riding this route forever was the lead (which gave me some great shots) and he told us (intercom communication is great) about what "used to be" plus showed us a wonderful tiny church I did not know was there as we traveled. This is Junior (that tiny red dot) going around The Hairpin (one of the KYA turns). We followed seconds later. This is on US Rte. 50 East.

I was about to faint until you said, "...back when I was still riding." I was picturing you out yesterday, leaning into those curves, and I was thinking, this can't be right!

Trust me, if I had time to be riding I would be. We have such great roads for it. We are now getting MORE involved with antique motorcycles with a new club that has just formed - DH is a Charter member.
The hard part for me is getting on and off a Gold Wing or in this case a trike. A regular bike, I could just swing my leg over. These you kind of have to climb on. Finally figured out I had to just grab the bottom of my jeans leg and haul it over! I think I looked ridiculous doing it, but it was a great ride.
