I have heard mention of this a lot lately from the innmates here, so here tis:

"Room Rage"

Def:

When the room they booked is either:

a) the room they say they didn't book, or

b) not what they want and they demand to change rooms.

In either scenario they act like it is your fault.

Hah, yah I had a guy one time that arrived and insisting that I gave him the wrong cabin.

RR(room rager): This is not the right cabin, I booked the one with the hot-tub.

Me: Sir we don't have any cabins with hot-tubs.

RR: It showed on your website you had a room with a hot-tub.

Me: Sir I built all three of these cabins from the ground up, they are all identical and there is no hot-tub in any of them.

RR: Why does it say you have them on your website?

Me: I build the website from the ground up too, and I can guarantee you that there is no photo or mention of a hot-tub.

RR:  [Grabs his laptop in a huff.... fiddles for a few minutes while I grab some wine glasses for them .]  Puts the laptop in my face, and says see, it shows right here, hot tubs.

Me: Sir, that is not us.  That cabin place is 4 miles up the hill and does only weekly rentals.  (I point out the wildly different physical address.)  They have a lovely view of the lake that you are standing 50 ft away from.  [sounds of his embarrassed wife snickering]

He managed a smile the next day, but it was apparent that he wanted to blame someone else for his mistake.

Wait, room rage is an innkeeper ailment? Haha I meant, guest! But okay, I suppose if the shoe fits...now I know what I had yesterday.

Innkeeper Room Rage - when you realize you forgot to remove the down duvets from the beds in ONE room and when you go to clean the room you find the guests have put the duvets (2 of them) IN the bed and you know what they did on them because the whole house heard what they were doing.

Luckily, all the guests had left the building because I let loose with a stream of invective that curled DH's hair. And I threw the duvets out the door of the room and down the stairs. I'm mad just thinking about it and it was 5 years ago!

The medical term for that is "spatial dysphasia" defined as a medical condition brought about when a PITA is also a dumbass.

Ouch. I hate when this happens. And it's ALWAYS that they booked the most expensive room and I've given them the cheapest room.

"Our room is supposed to have a fireplace!!! I KNOW I reserved a fireplace room!!!"

I've been getting this before the fact when they get their confirmations. 'That's not the room I reserved! It changed on me when I hit enter.' Or, 'YOU changed my room.'

Good one. And I'll bet other forms of room rage can be added to the list.

Yeah, I thought it meant when you go to clean the room and it's trashed.

I thought the same. Been reading about a lot of that variety on another forum lately.
