We are having our Frontier Days. "Our" Reuben, Community Development Director for my City is doing his first Frontier Days. (I have a wonderful view of the Ducks Game (back of) from my desk.) I asked if he needed anything done and he said he needed to find someone to do dinner for the band Wednesday. He knew I would do it.
So for brats, beans, slaw, couple kinds of chips, cider, and my awesome molasses cookies, I got my own concert as the band did their warm-up. The big entertainment tonight was the Glenville State College Bluegrass Band. They had the first degree program for Bluegrass. There are currently 23 in the program - the Director brought 5 tonight.

So glad to see the bass fiddle, I have been to a couple shows of late where they have turned it in for a small electric one and it really put me off.
GOT STRANGS?

Never thought of WV as being the frontier, but I guess they were indeed, a long time ago. So it's as good a reason as any to have a festival!

Old Levi Shinn built his 2-story log house in 1778 - and I have to key to it! Weren't many housing developments or Five Bucks around then.
