Just got my renewal notice. $500+. This is absurd.
I know a lot of you have cancelled and never looked back. Has anyone regretted leaving? We have a basic listing so I don't even want to think about what a diamond or gold listing costs!

As someone who never joined up in the first place but who has a totally different market, I'd encourage you to give it a try, see if you lose anything during your slow season, I bet you have the stats. You could always plug back in in the summer if you notice a change.

They are just getting out of the ball park! Gold is just shy of $700 and Platinum is over $1K, and they don't show the Diamond listing price - guess if you have to ask you can't afford it!
I am currently listed as silver.. and it states the estimated annual books at that level is 62. (bronze is 52 ($284+ and no link), 95 for gold, 179 for platinum.

I found their claims of traffic to be a bunch of hooey. Innkeep has a good suggestion. I dropped, went back for a "3 month free trail" during my busy season to see if it sent more traffic - and you must remember MY busy season is NOT every night like yours is. It did NOT do anything for me. I did not have ANY booking I could tie to their site - and I do have a tracker that tells me the referrer. I had planned to - at the end of the 3 months - go back with the Bronze sine it had a link in Bronze at that time BUT instead of calling me to see if I wanted to continue, they just auto-billed my credit card. I came unglued as you can imagine! End of relationship and have never looked back. It is no longer a site with the interests of B & Bs as its purpose. As many "discussions" as I had with Eric, he really did have B & Bs as a primary purpose for the site (after Eric of course and that is understandable).

I dropped them a couple years ago and never looked back. Don't need 'em and don't miss 'em at all. I certainly don't like it now they are under new ownership. I think that ruined them.

Well, I'm getting half what they think I should be getting.

This is one of those cases where I plug my nose and write the check. I use acorn's intell-a-keeper and it shows that in the last 12 months it's tracked approx $14,000 of reservations we can prove. Probably more that we can't track. We pay $600+ for our listing and have 4 rooms.
Definitely worth it for us so we stick with it.

That's a great ROI! And nowhere near what I'm getting. But I'm still getting a decent ROI. And the rest of the neighborhood is on there as well.

If you are getting a decent ROI , better just stick with them and suck it up. Those prices are ridiculous!

We get A LOT of business just from the reviews posted. After all the horror stories I've heard about TA, We're sticking with B&B.com.
Google Analytics shows we get a a ton of referral traffic from them as well.

Most people would be surprised at where their reservations actually come from. With my tracking, it shows that people usually go to several sources before they make their reservation. My tracker uses fractions of reservations, so if they found us on bb.com, then google, then TA, it would give .33 credit to all three of those sources. I think the guest 'trusts' us more when found in multiple locations.
I just dropped bnbf inder because of no action. Even just the 'love link' wasn't enough to keep them.
