Ok, well, I have only hit my projected daily income once since opening (9 days)... NOT GOOD! I've come close tho. (I know horshoes!)
ANYWAY... I got a call today from my bank and they want me to cater their breakfast meetings 2 x month! YAY! that will definately help with the needed projected income! I'm trying to figure out what to charge per person! There will be approx 45 people she said.
I'm so excited! NO.. I've never catered before, but I bet some of you have an can give me some wonderful advice... Pretty Please with sugar on top??
I THINK I want to make cinnamon rolls, my Pineapple boats (as like a centerpiece that they take from) and Peach Almond scones, and quiche, and sausages, and biscuits and gravy! (of course OJ, coffee, & Tea)!!
What do you all think??

You are a barrel of energy! You can do whatever you set your mind to.
How do your B&B guests eat during this breakfast meeting of 45?

Figure out your costs per person. Usually it's supposed to be around 30%, so triple it. Don't worry if it's a bit more in the beginning. Remember you also need to cover other expenses including transport and if you need to transport goods.

hmmmm catering...I guess I thought she would be doing it for them in the tea room...but maybe you are right...taking it to them????

Sounds like you got it to me! Yum yum..they should love it.
I am wondering like Maddie...has your B &B guests and their breakfast been an issue so far?? Or are you concentrating on the tearoom now?
Another thought...does you health dept permit..allow catering? Just curious :)

I missed that. I just figured she had the room there so why not use it. But, it might be taking the food to them. Wow. THAT'S a production first thing in the morning!

I think even coming close to what you'd hoped for on one of the first 9 days is great. Things take time to build. This is like a new business, and it can take 3 years for a new business to really take off. Be patient and keep smiling!

Yes, the tea room has worked out with the B&B. Since we don't open for lunch until 11 and check out is by 11.
AS far as the catering... (this is the FIRST ONE). We have not had a reservation on that first tuesday of Nov ever so I'm hoping we are safe. If it happens, I'll plan an easy breakfast (breakfast is at 9) and will have my hubby serve it.
And yes, health dept allows it as long as food has been prepared in an inspected licensed kitchen and is served /kept in the same.
I won't be doing it here (although I offered) but I can't seat 45. It will be about one block away in a restaurant that doesn't open until 11. (They actually recommended me to the bank)!
I know this will work!
