I ran across another website promoting a kit on how to start a B&B. On the page it states:
"...any one can start a Bed and Breakfast operation, and anybody who knows anything about the industry will tell you the same, regardless of country of residence."
"If you follow our industry-proven formula ... we guarantee that you will be earning a substantial income within a 4-8 week time frame"
Want to see the page? it is: sta rta bedandbreak fastpla n dotcom and they have a utu be video too.

That's awful. Earning a substantial income in 4 weeks? Misleading people into spending their money based on that kind of information should be criminal.

And, of course, they say that 'anybody who knows anything...' which then means if you say it's not really likely you don't know anything OR you did it all wrong and should have followed these directions.

Governments, especially in North America are anxious to add new lodging businesses to the economy because it provides more choices for the consumer when traveling, and one proven & effective way to do this is to facilitate legitimate start-up businesses by offering start-up capital.
They have one heck of an imagination. I notice there is not a single citation for all of the 'facts' they claim.

And this:
If you do not have they money to start your business, YOU ARE ENTITLED to a startup grant that NEVER HAS TO BE PAID BACK if the business fails.

And then there was this on the home page:
In total, we run over eight Bed and Breakfast properties, and we can tell you from our 60 years experience that it's about planning and execution.
While on the about us page:
...run by a group of eight...entrepreneurs...With over 10 years combined experience in the industry, you can be sure that you will learn from those who have proven themselves in the business.
and later:
But what makes them so special, is the fact they acquired 65 of their properties using funds from revenues from their first Bed & Breakfast endeavors over the course of 15 years.
So how many years of combined experience is this: 10, 15 or 60? And # of properties 8 or 65? Oh wait they did say OVER 8 and 65 is over 8, guess they got me there!

What a bunch of hooey! I can't believe the garbage they're saying on that site!
"The reality is, no Bed and Breakfast owner should spend over $300/year on advertising based off of our experienced & industry surveys."
Yeah, right!!

honey on the basis of what they have said - its fraud plain and simple

The photo on the book front they are selling is White Fence Bed and Breakfast in Luray, Va. I think. Probably lifted lots of photos from on line sited ? I would guess the N.H. address is a P.O. box and mail sent on to another area. There will always be people who want an easy fix and others glad to take their money.

What a rinky dink website!!! Who would trust someone with a site like that. I have written them to let them know they are in copyright violation using that photo. I will be informing the owner of the photo right now!

The thing that amused me most is the disclaimer page which basically says they don't guarantee that anything they say is true and if you're starting a B&B you should talk to someone who knows what they're talking about.

Our B&B Team broker had the same page. When we questioned the false income numbers he pointed that out, he is not responsible for any of it. Nice.
