Looking at redoing the shams in the rooms over the winter. I'll make the shams myself and thought I might try Euro shams instead of the regular ones. The backup pillows in the present shams are pretty beat up. I can wash them and donate them.
I've scouted out some funky, seashore fabrics in a heavy fabric that I think will be neat.
Do you use Euro shams?
 
I don't use shams at all. What are the advantages of using shams? I'm asking for my edification!

All of the headboards are metal. Without a couple of sham pillows you can't sit in bed to read without having the headboard leave grooves in your back!
I have 4 regular pillows but that's not enough.
The Euro shams are taller so I think they would work out better.
That's really it. Some of the rooms have really cute shams that dress up the bed and I like how it looks but mostly for sitting up reading.
 
We use them, but honestly, most people don't know what to do with them.
 
I have used euro for many years. I have no head board. People use the shams and not the regular shams get put off on the floor But use euro shams as a sit up pillows. I also love the looks of them on the beds. I feel it has a nice finishing touch.
 
I used them. Most just used as back rest when sitting up in bed I think. Other than that...just for looks.

Yes indeed, metal frame beds need Euro pillows and shams. We have two metal beds and guests use the shams to comfortably sit up in bed. Go for it!
