We had 10 inches of snow last night. The snow plows have cleared the streets, even our street. This isn't a place where a little snow creates sympathy, people. Our friend who called for a rain-check, just got called "wimp".
It's all relative... all relative.

Here, too. Everyone who was leaving did. A few thought they might be back after testing the roads but they seem to have continued on. Guests who were staying over are quite excited.

We went out for lunch without him. Found a lovely parking spot close to the place. Did a little shopping. Came home. Parked car in same spot. Life goes on. I assume my arrivals will be late, though. At least one is driving, so the highway should delay them maybe an extra 30 minutes on our side of the border.... but that would surprise me.

Here on the Southern NE coast we had fierce winds, about 1 inch of snow and a torrent of rain. Temp. this morning was 52!!! This afternoon the temps dropped like a stone down to 28. But the snow is gone so no show shovel needed! We like that part!

I spent two hours shoveling, after our plow guy did his thing (which wasn't until 1:00 this afternoon)! Talk about snowed in!

Well as long as we're comparing our winter wonderland, I had 2-night guests arriving 4 p.m. Friday, so at 1 p.m. I went to check that none of last week's ice and snow (1 inch of sleet followed by 6 inches of snow) was still around the entry to their apartment. That particular apartment is entered from the back porch, where they walk up one level of steps to get onto the porch and enter their room.
I found that all the ice and snow on the porch roof had slid off at once, falling to the ground below. It apparently let loose the previous afternoon when it warmed up a little, and all that ice and snow had refrozen in the night into a 2-foot high wall of ice covering the stairs to the apartment door!
It was a nightmare to clear a path for the guests to get in, and it was only a few hours before the Innspiring innkeeper road trip was due to arrive too. What an afternoon!

WELL I have to say some one said tornado was some thing I probably would not see. one of my fears It came close . We are at Charleston came close to see it all happen. Luck for us it was 40 miles away . To close for comfort . Winds rocked our motor home.
Today we are in Edisto . It has really changed since the last time we were here. Also Great to wake up to the sound of waves crashing in.
. We are off to Augusta in a few days.Think we will spend xmas there.

We always end up 'cleaning up' after the plow guy. He can't get in and around the cars and after all the cars were cleared off all of that snow had to be moved!
Gorgeous day today, tho!

Both of our reservations cancelled because of the snow forecast. We got some really good pictures of the storm surge. Put one up on our website.
