Another reason to blog

AND TAKE PHOTOS!
You know I seem to go on endlessly about blogging...about taking photos NOW for next year, and so on.
I had a call while I was away from a magazine in the DC area that is doing a travel segment in their Spring issue (two diff magazines) on our music trail here. The journalist they sent skipped our town, which is the start of this music trail, and went to the well know "Friday Night Jamboree" in the next town over. So...all that to say, when researching the editor found much more info and photos on the blog/website of our B&B.
She called to get info on our place and ask permission to use some pix.
I spoke to her a moment ago, and am sending her personal favorites of mine in high rez to use. Told her about a few other reasons to start the "music trail" at the beginning which is one block behind me. I will share the article in the Spring when it comes out.

Perfect as it is the best demographic for us, a huge population in under a 5 hour drive from the Metro DC area. Young people who want to hike, and have fun, plus baby boomers.

Let's hope the article translates into some increase business for your B+B. You never know where these things will go. Sadly, we have never seen them generate business directly...but who knows about the increase visibility factor that such articles bring?

people look at all sorts of weird things - I get the most traffic to my blog from my brief history of my town and my dates for my towns farmers markets

Currently the most hits on my blog come from that fact that I posted the menu of a new restaurant in town. They don't have a website, so when people google the restaurant's name, they end up at my website to get the place's phone number, operating hours, and menu!

I always find it odd what shows up under search terms in the blog stats! This week it has been 'Christmas cookies' non stop.

May it make your online reservations ring the bell - to the point you hav eto raise your rates to cut back on occupancy!
