Just spent half my paycheck on New Years - normal for here. Shrimp ring and a huge pot of chili (cutting down on the usual foods) which is a tradition for us for New Years Eve. Will invite the guests to join us. Also have a bottle of Blueberry wine our Vets brought us that we have been saving. That will be as rich as we get in this house. NOT sharing my chocolate from Christmas!!!

may your right hand always be stretched out in friendship,
but never in want.

happy new year! early night and a nice lie in - ready for 2014 bring it on!

Why do people do stupid things for the New Year. Essentially the guest that just left my place has essentially committed three crimes over their stay here and twice broken two commandments (if you are religious, that is.)
Gosh, I wish I had told his GF that she could do so much better than that!

This happened to our guests. I saw them arrive at the bar where I was partying. I could tell they were already drunk. She, being very beautiful, was getting alot of male attention when she went outside to get some air. He, being very drunk, did not go with her. Everyone was watching what was transpiring between them as the night went on. Apparently he got jealous, walked outside and yanked a chunk of hair out of her head.
He spent the next few days in jail on felony assault charges (heck, he could still be here for all I know) and she showed up at 3:30am, after a friend drove up to rescue her, to get all their belongings out of their room. A few hours later I had to get up to feed a full house.
Haven't had that eventful of a New Years in a very long time!
