Hero images are the BIG image at the start. For example, Apple's famous for these big photo when you go to their website. Something like this.I said, "right on" to most of these suggestions, but I didn't know what they meant by "hero images" and "animated GIF flags and flames"..

And the animated GIFs are SO SO SO old.
.
I figured that's what it meant but was confused that it said, "...animated GIF flags look cool...it turns out they add value." I thought I must be missing something because I couldn't imagine ANY compliments for animated GIFs. I didn't even like them in 1995. They really cheapen a website.Sugar Bear said:And the animated GIFs are SO SO SO old.
My very first internal corporate website that I built as the help desk person in order to stem the tide of service calls (Here's a website with all the info, have a look!) had dancing bears, a dog that ran back & forth and a firetruck with lights flashing. I really drank the kool aid on that website!Hero images are the BIG image at the start. For example, Apple's famous for these big photo when you go to their website. Should have taken the hint back then that no one wanted to read the solution to their problem, they wanted me to walk 2 miles to their office to fix it for them. While they did something 'important'. (I always walked the 2 miles for: my mgr, my mgr's mgr and my mgr's mgr's mgr. Everyone else got the link to the website - including DH - if I had already solved the problem and had a step-by-step solution to follow.)
