People always freak out like our rates are high end or something, the locals that is. I tell them, as I told someone just yesterday "Have you ever looked at the local chain hotels IN OUR TOWN?"
I am on booking.com looking, as two properties are listed and I see both of them received bookings today and yesterday from Booking.com
Standard Double or Twin Room
Air conditioning Flat-screen TV
• Book now, pay now
• Breakfast included

$136.77
Not included: 10 % TAX.
or
$149+10% tax
PAY LATER if they want a cancellation before March 6th. Hey isn't that a month away?
But wait it includes all the fruit loops and hard boiled eggs stowed in the fridge for who knows how long - you want.

Post it on your blog! Like the cute pool guy said!
Hotel prices on x date at Roach motel. Prices here on same date including (everything you include).

We get that, too. And when I mention that the hotel breakfast is not included and is $10/person, I hear back, 'but they'll give me a discount!'
Right. From $235 down to what? Certainly not my price.

And those hotels in your town have ratings where only 63% and 45% of their clients would recommend their friends stay there. Yup, sounds like the place to stay.
Enjoy your sneeze muffin, dude!

Right before I opened here, the rumor around town was that I would be charging $435/night. I got that set straight, I think, and even my top rate of $149/night sounded cheap in comparison!

Locals $435/night, Tourists $149/night. :)

It is the same as those so-called "rack rates" on the back of hotel doors. Come to think of it I have not actually seen those for a while! hm
They used be like $500 or some ridiculous amount. They legally had to post it, like the most they could ever charge ever, or something? You all may know more about than I do.

Yep, it was the law. It was to keep the front desk clerks from tacking on some extra $$ for themselves. Hotels got tired of having to replace the signs and just put an outrageous number on there.
I still see them in some places, maybe the law is still in tact in some states.

Lots of places here are doing the pay now, non-refundable for a discount, must purchase at least 7 days in advance. Pay standard rate to be able to cancel up to 48hrs. The difference is no more than $10-15.
