Left the house today at 6 AM for the Capital to do Tourism Day at the Capitol. During the Legislative Session groups go into the Capitol with displays (tomorrow in Farm Bureau Day). The Tourism Division - for our day - orders tables set up, provides a FREE parking lot, and runs shuttles in the morning and then at break-up in the afternoon back to the parking lot. This costs the entities who display nothing other than our gas and time.
I made a display for my Elopement Package and had a fair amount of interest in it. Cross fingers. On the way home DH called with a phone number of a lady who wants a basic - no frills. Quoted her a price and we have another elopement in April. (Nothing o do with today) Here is my display (had other brochures and racj cards on the table):

We have a Tourism Day here, too. Could never figure out what we were supposed to do with it. There were no displays or anything.

I know you were short on time. but why not get a permanent display ready so you have it all the time. Frame / mount the photos and put on some "explanations" of what is on the photo.
Also give it some sort of catchy title that will draw people to it. If it catches on well, you could have one of those professional ones done that you just unroll like a screen.

Many travel in pairs so one can staff the table and the other can go talk to Legislators. This event is to show the Legislators how divers and how much tourism we HAVE in this State (and how important it is to their budget from the taxes we generate for them. When I let my State Senator know I was there, he came out with a staff photographer and had photos done of us at my table. Some will just leave their stuff on the table and go visit the Legislators - I am there to promote my business. I can and WILL talk to my Legislators whenever. One of our Delegates had photos done with my friends with the Miniature Horse Championship Event.

One reason I do not have the "professional look" is I want to convey this is not expensive. I am just another West Virginian scratching by (which I am).
A permanent-type display will take up storage room I do not have. And since I am usually doing this on my own, I need to have as little to carry/drag as possible. Yesterday I was fortunate to have help - since there was a 2-hour delay for school yesterday, they brought the kids too. We had 3 kids from 2 to 11 and one of her kids was very helpful. (And those kids were good as gold the entire day - no fussy, whiny from any, not even the 2yo)
