All those social media experts who have Facebook page and such and LIKE a post of mine instead of sharing it. Oh the innsanity...
They think they are helping our business? Not.
If you want to help someone, please SHARE their post, their photo, whatever it is you think is share-worthy.
HINT: If you are sharing something from someone else, it won't do you any good. In case you thought sharing stuff helped your page. You need to post something YOURSELF.
 
I just went to our county FB page and asked them to SHARE vs like the post. DANG PROFESSIONALS!!!
 
Yes I 've noticed that everybody is switching from "like this" to "share this". FB will soon take away the benefits of sharing to punish us for not spending money when we do it.
 
I have been in FB Siberia lately. ONE photo of mine that I posted had a couple of hundred views. Every other post for the past week? 20 views. Last week I was getting thousands of views. Right now my view stats show a drop of 75%. Really? Not like I stopped posting.
It was when I posted the links to my blog so everyone could see the videos we took that FB would not accept to post. Those got viewed at best 30 times. Once I did that FB has drastically limited who sees my posts.
Even some of my best fans say they never saw the videos. People who like everything. I told them they had to go right to my page to see the vids.
 
Mads they won't see your page.
This is how FB is trying to make money. Sponsor your post and they will see it, Yeah righto.

BTW I did see one of your posts - not on FB but in my email on my nutshell mail. Somehow I have you in a B&B group that goes into my nutshell mail... I digress.
What I saw was one of your better posts, and it was so simple that it grabbed me right away. I thought (but had too much thinking to do yesterday) that I would mention it.
I wanted to mention a SOCIAL MEDIA BLITZ from this forum and her innkeepers. And those who we know and so on and so on...until we have a viral effect!
What is it you said that I found so compelling?
"I SMELL BACON"
Now if anyone is with me on this one, let me know. If we add it to a photo and make it way cool, guess what we won't get it out there on FB. It will die. It does this now on FB. No matter how much we want to share it and have it viral.
I can make an innterative inns post with this title, give me your URL and I will stick it on there.

If they deliberately look for my page then they can go to it. But I had to tell them that in person. At breakfast.

Even the bacon comment got pretty much zip in the way of viewers. Everything is under 30 views right now with the exception of the photo I posted on Sat of something new we made for breakfast.
Heck even I am not seeing my inn posts on my personal page. I have to search for the inn page, switch users and then hit 'share' for the posts to show up.
 
I cant update the other post.
Here is the image if you want to share it online: I am posting on Pinterest if you want to save the image and repost. I would LOVE to have everyone onboard, but every time I offer a free blog post with photo we have like 5 responses. SO this is for you, if you think free is not valuable: Go here and repin, PUT YOUR OWN B&B name on it before repinning!
Do the same on Twitter, G+ and FB.

My posts have been doing pretty well lately. Between 450-900 views because I've been getting lots of likes with my snow pics. Snow is unusual here, so folks are oooohing & ahhhhhing.
Hey Maddie, go onto my FB page and scroll down to the image of the cow posted on January17th. Copy it and post it on your page and see what happens. Let us know when you do it so we can go and 'like' it. Let's see if we can push a posting for you and if that will make a difference in how FB is treating you.
When I posted it, I got 59 shares, 80 likes and 4,000+ views. I'm starting with more page fans, but heck, it's worth a try!

I don't get any love at all when I post photos. In in that slump again where fb doesn't show my photos to anyone.
I'll go look for the cow...
