I came across this guys website and he has been giving me helpful info about my website that I'm trying to improve on. His info has been really helpful in that he has not just said, 'just do this or that' but has given me tools to 'learn' the how and why and what. I appreciate that. But I came across this article he wrote and its good info and wanted to share it with you all. Enjoy!

Is there a reason you aren't listening to the B&B website info that is shared vs a generic web designer/guru?
Just wondering, we post and share INVALUABLE information here all the time, which would help build a super website for our industry. This guys website is sell sell sell. Pop ups at me when I visit his website and info online.
I know I know not what you wanted to hear.

Who is this guy? Do you know him? Trust what he says?? Hope you aren't paying him anything. You get plenty of great advice here and we know your business. Looks like he is more radio than web. And what good is radio these day???
But I still don't see any changes in your site?

Radio is still quite relevant. I have radios in every important room - Library, kitchen, bedroom, His Lordship's area... and they are on all day (except the bedroom radio once we are up and about). The car radio is on when I am in the car. I rarely watch TV. OK, maybe it is just weird me with the radio.

I didn't mean it that way. I listen to radio..only NPR though. What I meant was for the majority of our businesses, radio advertising doesn't bring in any business....maybe in her case with the tea room it does for local but I would never spend my marketing dollars for B & B to radio. Just my personal opinion here

Om THAT we agree. Only locals would be hearing it and we know they are usually not going to spend the bucks for a bed in their own town.
I say that after waving goodbye this morning to a couple from about 25 miles from here (they were here in 2998 for their honeymoon - back when we were 3 w/shared!). And yesterday a lady approached me about availability and pricing for their 25th anniversary in 2015. She said they figure if the weather is bad, they can walk to us!
