Google Warns Local Business: You Have 3 weeks to Save Your Places Listing
By the way, this article is dated a week ago. So now you have 2 weeks.
When I checked the map (just go to maps.google.com) If your map is verified, when you click "more info" on your listing box (click on the red 'pin' which is your location pin), it should take you to your verified Google+ page. If it's not, it will take you to an unverified Google+ page and there you will see the "Is this your business?". If you see that question, then you are not verified. Just follow the instruction with that link.

I need to reverify with my name and info. I guess I need to read how to do that. Thanks for this heads up!

THANKS BD! I had received calls but most of the time these are some business wanting to handle this for you.
I had verified my listing before. Crazy to have to do this again and without (?) warning.

There is another listing for our place that has our city wrong. I tried to delete it or edit it, but it says that it is verified by another user. guess I will have to go another route, as maybe I did this long ago with another id? It needs to go!

Happy to share! Google changes so quickly, it takes a village to keep up with them!

they send you a postcard in the post with a code on and you have to punch it in.

YOu mean this is a REVERIFY? Great...I am not about to tell all my clients to do this. They will have to fend for themselves. Not my job.

No, not a reverify, as far as I see. I'm still verified and don't have to do anything.

NO! Not a reverify! I mean I have to do that so that all of my Google stuff is under one name. I have the blog and I want the G+ to be the same account so I have to do it again.

I didn't have to re-verify either. I think it's mostly those properties that haven't done a G+ page and verified that in the past
One thing I did notice this time that I hadn't before...when you click on the red pin on google maps, it shows your info, but now they've added an add. And the one I'm seeing the most is bo oking. c om not good! Mine happens to be a nation chain of hotel which uses country inn......and they have used MY property name directly in their ad!!

yes, I see this Ad now too. It was not there yesterday when I added more info etc. Some reason my listing had no description - was there before! Anyhow, just checked my listing and there's the ad. NOT a happy camper. Of course our site is listed as well BUT!!!! I am sure that google is getting a kick back (maybe ppc) for adding that to our listings.

It's ppc. I think it's really underhanded and wrong!

So I updated my Google listing, it had been verified but it was missing the description and a couple other things I redefined.

Yesterday I get not one, but 2 calls claiming to be from Google wanting to verify the changes I recently made to my listing.
First one was easy, verifying address then asking if I had added/changed our description. Thank you and have a great day.

Second one asking if our business address was still.... I said it is hard to pick up and more a B&B... I did get a snicker. Then asked if our phone number was (insert local number) to which I said yes, the number you dialed. No he dialed our TOLL FREE. (WTH!)
- No other questions

Neither of these calls had caller ID with anything other than generic.

PITA!!! The stupid thing says my listing is not verified. That I cannot verify it as it is owned by someone else. That I have to request ownership from whoever owns it. I GOT THE STUPID EMAIL. Not 'someone else'.
It won't let me update anything until I get permission from the owner.

Did you add your wedding site to google local? There is wedding venue, and wedding service available there.

Need help here! I finally got my G+ page back from whoever had it. Have put some info on it and now am trying to link the G+ page to my website and to my blog. Even tho I am using the same email address for everything, nothing seems to be connected.
To link inn website to G+ instructions say to click the 'link' button next to my website URL in the About page. There is no link button. My website URL doesn't even show up unless you go all the way into the About section.
Connecting my blog to the G+ page wants to change all my personal info but does not seem to be going to connect the blog with the inn's G+ page, just my personal page on G+.
HELP!
