Caller: Hi! Can you give me the name of a place where we can (fill in the blank)?
Me: Not around here
Caller: Are you sure?
Me: When will you be staying? (Because maybe I can find something, but probably not)
Caller: Tomorrow
I have nothing for tomorrow so I panic. I ask what name is the reservation under.
Caller: Oh, I don't know where he made the reservation
Me: (A lot of stuff I won't repeat here) Call the damn place where you made your reservation and ask them!

Yup. And we get the calls from folks who read our web site, see that we do not take kids, and then call us to chat for a while before they ask for a recommendation for accommodations for their family. Or past guests who want to stay for a week but not with us. Instead they want to rent a house and could we recommend a place? Pah-lease!

I am NOT the tourist information office. I have that number memorized. And I tell them to call them. I pay enough in taxes for their to do tourist information.
I hate the calls that ask for a dog friendly place, because I'm on a list of places that aren't. Yes, they go to a website that says that I am NOT dog-friendly and then call and ask me for one that is. For them, the phone number is 1-877-GoToHell

ROLLing - that is a good one!!! Boy I would hate to have that 877 number. I bet they get a lot of 'wrong numbers'.

what is it with people? i used to get a lot of calls asking about the area, the stores, the weather, the ferry, the island, the restaurants but they did not want to stay with me. just wanted to talk. on my 800 number of course. so odd! sometimes they would tell me where they were planning to stay ... left me speechless (a rarity for me) :)

You mean sorta like the gal here who said "Where should we stay this summer when we come back?"
You know I actually did give them an answer, I told them a state park cabin. They didn't want to hear that either. If I went to a lake I would want a cabin, that is how I roll...dog, fam, boat, cabin = happy me.
