Do any of you hold additional events (weddings, showers, teas etc)?
 
Lots of innkeepers do. A few do spectacular events. Lots of pros and cons to doing so depending on your space, facilities, number of rooms, how much help you have. Up in the right hand corner of your screen on this site, there is a search block. Under the featured inn, Just type in events or weddings or teas and you'll get links to lots of threads on here about these subjects.
 
DO a search and you will find lots of threads talking about these things.
 
Make sure you are permitted to do anything before you get in too deep.
We are only allowed to serve breakfast, no other meals so teas, dinners, showers, etc are out unless all I provide is the space.
 
yes - some places can serve meals, teas, liquor ... some places can do none of these things. i needed a commercial kitchen to provide food other than breakfast which i could not afford. the next owner, who also owned a restaurant, brought in food from her restaurant across the road and was able to serve food in a cafe they built in the barn.
