Removing closed business from TA?

Any idea how to get TA to remove closed businesses?
I've emailed and called but nothing changes. There are 2 inns that have closed and 1 that is not even in this state listed under my town.
The new owner of the property, no longer an inn, has 'reviewed' one of them saying the business is closed. They got tired of random people knocking on the door.
 
I have tried over and over to get closed inns removed in our town. Because I am not the owner, they will not listen to me. They only deal with owners.

Go to: http://www.tripadvisor.com/GeneralSupport. From the next screen choose "Listings" and then "A Listing has wrong information..."
In the Comments, put the URL of the listing and if possible a URL showing them that it is closed. For example, the listing of the new business that is there. A remark about some review saying it's closed, etc."
That's the best that you can do. I'll send them a note about the closed one, since my account has a lot of reviews and I send them a lot of these listing updates, it might get it noticed a bit more.
 
Very surprised to find that my last email to them worked for 2 B&B's that have been closed for over 9 yrs, neither had reviews on TA, one still has a website, owned now by an ad farm who still use the old content to keep it ranking.
I included a # for the local tourist bureau so they could verify with them as well. Maybe that would work?

Ah! Sending it from my reviewing account instead of my biz account! Excellent idea.
And I'll do it from away so it's not the same ISP.

I'll include the local cvb info so they can contact an outside resource.
 
Rethinking the whole thing. Realized with fewer b&b's listed we might end up jumbled in with the hotels.

Don't think you need to worry about that, even with only 1 hotel & 1 B&B in my town there is a separate tab. The plus side is that we still show on the hotel tab under the 1 hotel.

Additionally since I sent in the info on the 2 closed places in neighboring city, which now does not have a B&B, I now appear as the nearest B&B on their city page. Nice to be back on there as that city is searched much more than my little one.
 
We also have a separate tab "B&Bs and Inns" with only 2 on it, my place and a motel here whose name is the such and such inn, so they listed under inns. Should be under hotels, but no big deal.

Hmmmm. I thought this was a problem for some. They suddenly found themselves mixed in with the hotels.
And now, with ta pushing the bookings we'd be so far down the list no one would find us, or the other inns.

You can ask TA to reclassify, but hotels classifications requires a 24 hour front desk, so if they don't have one, then aren't a hotel.

we are listed under hotels and I am not inclined to change it since our ranking is #1 of 7. We didn't put ourselves there, we found ourselves there. There is a list of 15 or so B&Bs in the town. Some are on both lists.
 
On our state tourism website there are businesses that have been closed for yonks as well. They won't go anything about it, perhaps a town official or someone can contact to update it.
I mention as they are all connected, so if they are on our page it shows "what is nearby" and they ain't.

I personally went through the list several years ago for them. Gave them all the incorrect things but nothing was ever done. I think there was a change in personnel. But I am certainly not going to take the time to do it again. Nothing in it for me.
