There was a hail storm and tornado in Sunshine's area. Her husband was almost home when he was involved in an accident that totaled his car. Per what I have been able to decipher on FB, he refused a tide home - walked. The other vehicle was deiven by a 94 year old. The Seniors were hurt. Prayer of thanks that Sunshine's DH is OK and that the Seniors will be OK.
This is Sunshine's FB post:
Please say a prayer for 3 senior citizens who were in the accident with Gene tonight. Gene is ok, they were all hurt and taken to the hospital. The driver is 94. The sudden Hail and rain blew Gene car right into theirs. We think Gene's car is totaled, but his air bags went off. The air bags in their HONDA SUV didn't go off. But should have.

Its why safety is so important when buying a car generally! fingers crossed for everyone!
Similar thing happened to DH's grandfather - he is a big walker and is part of a club, it had been a long day and 4 of them in a car - driver fell asleep! they all went into the ditch and turned over! made sure I never drive when tired anymore I can tell you, fortunately other than being a bit shaken up they were all fine
I would also say this is why we all need to wear seat belts - its all about safety!

Hi Everyone, Sorry for the delayed response, and Thank you all for your concerns. It has been crazy here. The weather continues to be going wild. We had storms again the last two days, creating hail, wind and some small tornadoes. To my knowledge everyone around us is ok, and no major damage.
The accident my DH had was storm related and there was actually a small funnel cloud that pushed his car into the other car (which went into the ditch) and then my DH car bounced off their car and crossed the road and went into the ditch on the other side. Our vehicle was totaled. The folks in the other car did receive injuries. One has a fractured sternum, one received a minor cut that required a few stitches and the other one I believe had whiplash. We feel terrible for them, just terrible. But we were told they will be ok.
It is truly a miracle that my DH walked away from this accident. He had a small, sporty Toyota Corolla. God had his hand on him, is all I can say.
It was our only car, so now we are in the process of finding another vehicle! ugg... I HATE vehicle shopping!!! But we are thankful and know it could have been much worse.
Thanks again for all your concern.

So glad your DH is OK...shaken, no doubt, but not seriously injured. When accidents like his happen due to weather, there is nothing anyone can do to avoid them except stay home. Good luck with the vehicle shopping. Maybe you'll find a good deal now that we are approaching the end of the 2014 car season.
