We are so darned excited that construction is over that we want to tell the world. How about a press release? Have you every done one? First draft impressions? What have I left out? Too much info??? I didn't mention the electric fireplaces and TVs we added - should I?
I would love to hear your experiences or comments.
PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release
BeachHouse Inn Announces Grand Reopening
The BeachHouse Inn on Mary Way is pleased to announce that renovations to the property are complete and the Inn is open and taking reservations for the Summer.
The Inn changed hands at the end of August 2013 when longtime Town Residents, John and Beach House took over and began a renovation project that lasted until the end of March 2014. Major renovations included rebuilding the front wraparound mahogany deck and adding a gas fireplace in the common living room. New windows were added to the first floor and the kitchen was remodeled. Landscaping changes include a koi pond with triple waterfall and filled with mature koi and a pathway from the driveway highlighting the antique anchor on the lawn. Small renovations include new shower heads and toilet seats in every bathroom and new sheets, towels and rugs in every bedroom. The Inn remained open during renovations, offering discounts when construction was intrusive. Please visit our website for room and reservation information.

Do you have any events scheduled?I think I would include a bit about John & BeachHouse. Give them a face and personality to show the warmth that will be found with the new owners. Nothing extensive, Did you graduate from that high school? Previous jobs you left behind to provide the great lodging for the friends and family visiting this wonderful town so YOU the visited can totally enjoy them..... Send a couple photos.

Thanks. Actually I did graduate from this High School and worked at two other local inns when I was in college.
Beach is a graduate of Townie High and during her student years worked at the Seatime Inn as a waitress and at the Yankee Inn as a chambermaid. John has background in business and customer service. Both have long wished for an Inn of their own. "We love the look of relaxation that comes over our guests when they take their first look at our ocean view and realize the journey is over and they can relax here."

It is YOUR news release, not necessary to give publicity to "the competition" even if they are NOT competition. Photo of the new inn (best focal point) and the innkeeper at the sign or welcoming guests (friends or family works) showing their back and YOUR smiles

Here is one I put together for our elopement packages. Diff to what you are announcing. Be sure to send this to your local news sources, so they can promote it as well!

Thanks all. The two places I worked are considered the premier inns in town. (In fact I cleaned Paul Newman's room!!) so I used their names for the recognition factor.
The picture is a great idea. Thanks for the input !!

As far as wording, I'd remove the two "at the end of" references as they are a bit wordy. It's unnecessary to get that specific. I'd just say you bought the property in August and completed renovations in March.
Hope they'll print it just as you send it. Hope they'll come do a feature story on the inn!

Thanks. Me too. We have already been interviewed for a local mag. The article will come out in June!
