People dig the laid back attitude of couch surfing, so called "airBnB" and yet here are the terms of service, beyond anything we have ever signed up for on directories. They have NO IDEA. They think everything is cool man...no idea how intense it really is! Another slight of hand when in reality AirBnB are making millions.

I pressed the down arrow to scroll to the bottom and my finger got tired of holding down the button. I don't think anyone, except perhaps a well-paid attorney, would read all that. I think the iTunes terms are even longer, though.

Whew! I I didn't even read it!
I did however see it was recently updated (4-7-14). Maybe they added more about protecting their own interests and how they are not responsible for issues as relating to some of the issues of late i.e. Damaging Guests, illegal use of property in some cities.

One of the reasons it appears to be so long is that they actually have both the new and the old terms of service there (the new ones don't take effect until the 20th or thereabouts).
I don't know if it is a change or not, but the new terms do give a lot of mention to the collection and reporting of taxes -- e.g. in select locations A b b will be collecting occupancy taxes for you; in other locations the host remains responsible for collecting and reporting such taxes....

They certainly are. There are discussions in this country in going after them and people who list with them for tax evasion. This is a way they think that will prevent them from being sued. I don't think it will work because they would be responsible for tax on their commission as well under our laws.

I didn't give the background to this just shared them, yes they are new and added onto terms. The point was the length of them all! holy moly!
