PAII is delighted to announce that it will be taking over the popular Mid-Atlantic Innkeepers Conference. Following seven years of this successful regional conference, its founder, Pete Holladay, has donated the Mid-Atlantic Innkeepers Conference to PAII, without any cost to PAII. We look forward to considering how this highly-regarded regional conference may fit in with PAII’s future conference event schedule.

of course we should have expected this. can you say conflict of intetest?

Who is surprised? There is no way he could do the Mid-Atlantic and be head of PAII. The Mid-Atlantic took a lot away from PAII.

Aloha all!
Well the busy busy season is winding down and I thought I would check in on my innspired pals. So the very first post and what's on my mind? Getting the dirt, of course. Shame on me, but I was wondering what all happened with PA II?

My take - Jay was pushed out, Pete Holladay took over as CEO of PAII nd jay landed on his feet as head of Select Registry - do not remember what the title was.
PAII raised the dues back to the old structure so many of us who had been $89 donors for a few years said, no way, Jose, when it went to $249 as the least amount with VERY little notice. That is the nutshell as I see it.

It shows how out of touch we are with what is going on over there! My goodness- $249 seems expensive for what seems like not much. Of course, it has been so long since I even looked at what PAII is up to. Is there anyone trying to keep them relevant as an industry voice? It was the main thing Jay was accomplishing. Of course, I have no REAL clue.

Jay's advocacy is WHY I paid $89 dues to PAII. I would not have been upset at a gradual raise to as much as $125 - BUT a 3-room B & B has limited funds and a $249 "donation" which is what I considered it, was more that I can do.. Many others said the same thing. It was worth it to me for what Jay was accomplishing and to give him the numbers to back him up, but not the drastic jump.

Actually, all is great! We have had a lot successes during my time away from posting. As usual, I am wondering how it all managed to come together so nicely. As some of you have been here for many more years, you may find it quaint that we are entering are 9th year as innkeepers.

So what about those burning questions from that thread?
Did PAII lose a lot of members? Did someone step in to form a 501 3c bnb association? What does PAII actually do now? What happened to all those donations that everyone thought were going into a non-profit fund? What DID happen at the last PAII conference?
