We do not have hundreds of reviews - got a late start suggesting reviews - heck we now have a total of 19!! The latest one was excellent as it touched on the things people want to know about. Also discovered I had not responded to the previous review that mentioned the claw-foot (antique) and the shower (modern) in just that way - so I responded to both. This is the latest - mention bed, room, location, food YES!!
On our way back home to Indiana, my husband and I stayed overnight at the Gillum House. Even though it was just a one night stay we had a very nice time and were very pleased with our decision to stay there. Our bed was very comfortable with nice linens. The room was supplied with more than enough towels, plenty of reading material, assortment of fruit, flat screen TV, and fresh flowers. Those little touches show how much these innkeepers care about the service they provide. While Shinnston is a small town it's just the kind that we like! Fairmont is just a short drive away if you are looking for more activity. Breakfast in the morning was amazing! The food provided was delicious with a wide variety and huge portions. The table was attractively set and there was nothing more that we could have asked for. We hope to include more stays at the Gillum house in the future when we travel to wonderful West Virginia! You will be very happy to stay at this small town bed and breakfast if you chose it when you travel to West Virginia. Ps. We did get a few nice things at the auction enjoying the wonderful weather!

I got a review this week but it is on yelp. First yelp review. Knowing no one really see me on Yelp I put it on the first page of my website (in the blog part)
Here it is. . .
My husband and I can't say enough when it comes to the hospitality we received when staying at this wonderful bed and breakfast.
Traveling all the way from California, we wanted to stay in a comfortable, clean, and accessible place. When we arrived, we received warm welcomes from Mike and Carol. Upon entering the lodge, you quickly feel at home. The living room is spacious, and has huge windows to look out and enjoy the scenery.
We stayed in the loft, which is a lot bigger than the pictures show. It has extremely high ceilings, which is perfect for tall people . The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was nice and clean. (Unlike other lodging places in the area)
To top it all off, breakfast was delicious! Carol made us home made biscuits and gravy followed by stuffed French bread topped with strawberries and cream.
Both Carol and Mike made it a point to give us our space when staying there, but with such warm and inviting personalities, it was hard not to engage them in our conversations.
Staying here is worth every penny, and we look forward to staying here in the future.

How could anyone be unhappy when having the opportunity to be with Mike & Carol - they are FUN. And I am NOT kidding you!
 
Love reviews like that - they mention specifics and are useful to readers. Just bet you enjoyed talking to these folks. Sounds like they're right up your alley.
