Job applicants. One from over 500 miles away. Resume that explains their office mgmt skills and attention to details. But not, obviously, an ability to read.

Another who desperately needs the money. (Not a sad story, a kid.)

And one I liked. Perky. Upbeat. Acknowledged the job and gave a start date. Never hear from that one again. Eye-wink

Finally have some interviews set up and will be doing a job fair next week, too.

Everyone sounds halfway alive and on the ball.

The one person who kept emailing how desperate they were for the job never responded to the call for scheduling the interview.

Wow.  So where the heck do you advertise to get someone from 500 miles away?  I need some of that!

I can see issues already. All of these kids have yahoo accounts. Our emails are blocked by yahoo so the replies won't get thru to them.

why are your emails blocked by yahoo?  didn't they include a phone number?

Our emails are blocked by yahoo because spammers use our email address and users report it.

No amount of emailing to yahoo and filling out their forms and verifying my IP address has helped. Same thing with AOL.

There were some phone numbers but they have to fill out the applications.

Create a Gmail account and reply using it.  In fact that may be your best avenue with any aol or yahoo correspondence.

We had some issues like that with our  email@domain.com that we stopped using it and went with a gmail account.  Not as professional mind you but it gets the job done.

You can set Gmail up to look like you are emailing from your own personal email address.  I have 3 email addresses dumping into one gmail acct and it chages the reply to and sent from addresses to whatever account it came from.
