Oh I,ve always wanted to own a B&B

In 2009 at the age of 74 I was bored with retirement and decided I needed another challenge. So why not a B&B, after all I've been making beds and cooking breakfast for decades. What else do you need to know? After researching B&Bs for sale on the various sites we headed out to visit places in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida.
Our criteria were simple, we looked at property condition, level of business, the town we would now be living in, and the amount of private space for the owners. Anyway after 8 weeks on the road we had a contract on our very own B&B.
But now with the big 80 just around the corner its time to pack it in. So we listed on one of the big B&B sites and with a local Realtor. It is amazing just how many dreamers there are out there. So many people who contact us love to talk, plan and wring their hands. Of course we get more than our share of dreamers on this site. I am amazed by just how gracious you all are, but perhaps that's why you are good at what you do.
Anyway we are heading North for the Summer next week and if any of you are the Savannah area would like to talk shop let us know we would love to meet you, we always pay full price. We might even take you to dinner

don't know if its the same in the USA but it is definitely picking up sales wise and mortgage lender wise in the UK.
Also feel potential buyers have more confidence in the market of people buying rooms ie booking
We have just lost a BB in our town to house was only 3 bedrooms and they only operated when it fit in with their schedules ie he was a chef and she was a nurse - with only 6 guests max they could cope with only one of them at once.
However he met and fell in love with one of the guests and ran off with her so that was the end of that - and its been on the market 6 months and has sold as a house. We went to look at it about 7 years ago as an extension for here but it didn't cut up very well and meant 2 rooms had to share a toilet etc so we decided against it.

I am amazed that you started inn keeping in your 70's...and that you lasted 6 years! We all know that the physical demands of inn keeping are beyond what most 60-year-olds can sustain, so my hat is off to you! We wish you all the luck in the world in your next phase of life. It sounds like traveling may be in your future so if you get up our way, (coastal southern New England) give us a jingle.

There are 3 suites here but b'fast is delivered to the suites as they have full or some kitchens , dining table , etc. I do it all ,mow, paint,.laundry, clean, cook etc. so far ?
