Oh Boy heavy

I am not sure whether to laugh or cry. Coming home has not been easy. On our way home we got this urgent phone call. Please don't read if you having a rough day of it.. I don't want to responsible for you having a bad day.
Our daughter called us long distance, tell us our next door neighbour Is up set as our out door sprinklers have been on for 3 days and it is raining, water running into his crawl space. yekes!!! we are three days away from being home. . Tried calling the company that is looking after our house to get them to come and shut off the yard sprinklers. No answerer. Call daughter to call next door neighbour to shut off our sprinklers. asked for his phone number to call him. As we had lost our phone while in the states and had bought a track phone.
Then E mailed company to get over to house. wonder why they had not notice it was on? they replied oh we thought you had it on a timer. No did we tell you we had ??? NO! it has been running for three days. So they send over fellow he takes pixs as to show it could not have caused damage to neighbours house. Later... Found company had seen our sprinklers on but thought they were on a timer. But failed to call us. Plus our new fence was broken and bent as a result. Again they did not tell us.
We see we are still leaking hydro fluid from the RV. Should of stopped by now!t so now we are looking for a place to have some one look at it . We are two days from being home. Found a place they took us in right away. Found out The people in CAL. had not tight up some bolts so we were leaking fluid and air had got into the lines so oure slides would not have worked. They fixed it thank goodness but now we are another day late.
Coming home ready to leave again!!!!
Then we find out town as opened a new web site full of mistakes bad ones even our web site is a mess and that is putting it mildly. then about 1 block away new B&B opens up . No sweat right ??? only she has made a sign just in front of our sign. blocking ours. . Under cut us in price. to bad. oh well.
Then found out another B&B in town has put there prices at the same as ours and copied our breakfasts. They had only offered a continental. Also their ( B&B) have the same first name as us. It has been a problem for us often having the same first name . But we were different . We were in business for a year before them. But we offer different service and different prices. But wow this has got my dander up.. Now they are fully copying us. Right down to what we have. And there is not a thing I can do! I should be flattered But I am not!!! Think I better get ironing maybe I can work off more steam .Thanks for reading.

Flower, fire up the tea maker and have a refreshing cuppa. That is enough to make a preacher swear! Remember one thing about imitations - they are not as good as the original and that will show. They can try to imitate you - but they do not have YOU! Add The Original to your web site - that is something they cannot copy because you are the original.
Though everything, you and your family are not hurt nor sick nor worse - THAT is what counts. All else is fixable. Hugs and a POOR BABY are sent to you from West Virginia.

Talk about how good the products that you use are, etc. Make them more different. They obviously think you are doing a great job, so great, they copied it!

Isn't that always the way....vacation is over and the world comes tumbling down on your head!! Hopefully the neighbors will be understanding and you will not hear another word from them. The sign is another matter....hmmm, I'd have a talk with those folks and see if you can't get them to reconsider its placement.
I know what you mean about the copying....very upsetting...happens to us as well. We even had one place put their goo gle map marker on OUR location in a Craigs list add. Another B+B cashes in using our location as one of their key words and advertises as being AT "our location". Such a cheap shot. I don't blame you for being upset. But surely they can't hold a candle to your place.
Things will look better in a day or so once the shock of it all wears off. Hang on!!

this is exactly why i tell people when They say oh when you are shut to build your extension you should go away! ARE YOU INSANE? i have to be there to supervise every fricking minute of it!!!!!
these are the things that happen when you go away! family etc say "oh we would love to run it for you for a week or so" yes I am going to trust my business and hard earned reviews to you? are you joking me?

First and for most spoke with the fellow that came into our yard and house every Saturday. He said he saw our sprinklers on BUT! thought they were on a timer. OK didn't you think maybe you should of checked with us or at least check to see if the timer went off. He repeated what he said when we e mailed him and telephoned him while we were on the long trip home. That he thought it was on a timer. As there was no damage done to our place And he took pictures of our yard when he got our Email to show there was not water running down our wall on to neighbours propertiy. So now we have the pictures to show neighbour we will see what has happen.

Iam not to sure they can keep up to our standers .We offer a constant change of breakfast, we record every ones breakfast to date our oldest guest of ten years has never yet received one breakfast the same . But it is the fact what she is doing. From a continental breakfast to a gourmet breakfast. I am sure hers and mine will be different but guest seeing that she is offering the same kind will be a crape shoot to who they pick.
I like to tell my guest more a bout what I do to show we are different But I am sure if I did that she would gain even more of an upper hand. Cause if she is bent and determined to be that inclined.??You could stay with me for a month and not get one main breakfast the same. I am sure what is in her arsenal is not that big. But the people that book with her would not know that. As they go by what they see. We even have a reservation service she does not.
If I put up more pictures of my food she will show hers. then it like show and tell. a rather childless game comes into play.
We provide a lot of extra service but if I say what I do or serve on the web site that will give her more to play with. If people call first as they are checking a round I then can sell ourselves easy !

LOl for sure.
I think we hit every bad weather we could even earth quake, plus the accident! It cost 22 thousand to fix the RV. Plus the stop to fix the fluid from pouring out .We are so blessed that no one was hurt. I will never get over that.
So the bucket list of things to do has taken on a new thoughts. May be we should not have a list of things to do before we get to old to do them Hahaha!

Hey today is another day! thank God. I am a fighter for most part. I guess when crap hits the fan I just need to move quicker to get out of the way! LOL
Putting all a side. THANKYOU ALL. I really mean that !
When the tough gets going I am so glad you all are round. You all help us when we are in a bad place.
So now that all my Ironing is done. I have lots of weed to pull. Maybe weeding will help in more then one way ?LOL.

That tea maker is the greatest thing. I have used it more then our guests. I get to use till the 19th then it gets put back into the guest area.
That word original I am giving that some thought.

Things like Stay at the original, not the copy. Serving gourmet breakfasts since we opened, etc. A different breakfast every day of your stay.
Yes, it's a volley at them, but they can't say things like that without lying. I assume you have better reviews, better rooms, etc. Talk yourself up and let her be second by comparing to you.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to take that and use it .
As far as rooms they have a newer house with just bedrooms and a common sitting area. We have over 450 squ. feet of space for each of them. Plus there own entrances Like having a suite all to yourself. Plus their own entrances. There are some differences for sure But all of us can boost our differences.that what is so great about B&Bs.
But I will work on the facts you gave me. Again thank you.
