We were relaxing in the sun and a couple walked up to us saying they were booked here for 4th of July. (I thought of all of you and how it was our 5 minutes in the sun and now we had to entertain a guest that wasn't checking in for 2 months. But we didn't mind)
So we introduced ourselves. They said they'd been staying in our inn for 10 years. They asked to see the room to see if we'd made any changes. We agreed to show them around.
So we get to their room and the husband peeks into the bathroom and says, "Thank God!! A new showerhead!!!"
They told us the shower never worked and they would use showers in the other rooms but never told the owner because she was so sweet. We told them that not only did we change every showerhead, but we also changed the toilet seats, added hairdryers and upgraded the electrical for air conditioning. I thought they were going to cry.
Not sure why they kept coming back to a substandard room, but I do know they love the view. So, lucky us. A happy, repeat customer. And really nice couple, too. Looking forward to hosting them in July.
(Oh, and P.S. they also said they had considered buying the place but didn't like the commute to her job. They shared a look when they found that my job is a block from hers.)
